About Dr. Nadia Kuprian

I am a licensed clinical psychologist, and I work with people of various neurotypes and identities who struggle with anxiety, depression, interpersonal and relationship issues, body image and eating disorders, obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors, traumatic experiences, substance abuse, and sexuality issues.

I have extensive experience working with neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, and immigrant populations as well as with couples where partners have different neurotypes, sexual preferences, or come from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Beyond working in private practice, I supervise mental health professionals at various training settings and teach graduate courses at the Psychology Department at Brooklyn College, CUNY.

I have published research in peer-reviewed journals on the process and outcome of psychotherapy as well as book chapters on the effectiveness of psychotherapy.

I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Derner School of Psychology, Adelphi University, New York.

My training settings included community clinics, an in-patient psychiatric unit at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center, William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis and Psychology, as well as extensive training in couples therapy through New York Center for Emotionally Focused Psychotherapy.
